Shortfuse Recordz, LLC, is proud to announce the Official “Play My Shit” YouTube contest. This groundbreaking contest can be found by going to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJSGy5Aob3A. The link will begin a stream of Shortfuse artist Scrape announcing the contest rules and prizes. To enter, simply record a 30-second to 1 minute video of yourself spitting a freestyle, a written verse, singing, spoken word, or anything else, mentioning Shortfuse Recordz and Play My Shit at least once during the video, and post the video as a video response to Scrape’s announcement of the contest and the rules. Videos will be accepted from March 14-May 14. The “Play My Shit” contest is a unique opportunity to impress record executives from the quickly-growing Shortfuse Recordz. Most importantly, the contest provides an opportunity to showcase your skill AND win! The winner of the contest, picked by the Shortfuse A & R Department and Scrape himself, will receive a $1,000 cash prize, round-trip airline tickets to New York City, lodging in New York City, the opportunity to hang with Scrape in the City, and a demo-deal. The demo-deal provides the winner the opportunity to record at the world-class Studios with Scrape, FREE. Our studio features state-of-the-art technology, and the end result will be a demo produced, mixed, mastered, and engineered by the Shortfuse Productions team. Hot 97 DJ Envy and Scrape to Release “Play My Sh*t” Mixtape
Shortfuse Recordz and DJ Envy have joined forces to release new promotional mixtape. The release, “Play My Shit” features the highly anticipated debut of Scrape. The promotional mixtape was released on December 2007 and features Philly P, Young Wise, and Jaz-O. The mixtape promotional campaign will be featured on YouTube and Scrape is scheduled to release his debut album and begin touring in early 2008.
DJ Envy, considered one of the premier DJ’s in the mixtape game is two time Just-O Mixtape Award recipient and one of New York’s leading mixtape producers. He has produced tracks for artists such as Fabolous, Cam’Ron and Jay-Z, just to name a few.
Known throughout the Midwest, Scrape has been performing since he was a teen on the streets of Columbus, Ohio. His musical influences range from R&B artist Baby Face, to the late TuPac & Notorious BIG. He has won several battles on the mike and has opened up for Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Eminem.
